Recognizing Compassionate Care

Did a staff member or volunteer at the Princess Margaret Cancer Centre go above and beyond to comfort you or your family member after a cancer diagnosis? Nominate them for a Gerald Kirsh Humanitarian Award!

After experiencing such extraordinary care at Princess Margaret, the late Gerald Kirsh, his wife Paula, and their children Jennifer, Jeff, and Joel, wanted to do something that would honour staff in a meaningful way. They created The Gerald Kirsh Humanitarian Awards and for the past 18 years, patients, families and staff have come together to honour the compassionate care that is so integral to The Princess Margaret.

Tell us how a staff member or volunteer provided compassionate care to you or your family member by filling out a nomination form at: www.thepmcf.ca/kirshawards. Nominations will be accepted until Monday, September 10th. All nominees will be recognized at a celebratory event on Monday, November 5th at 4:00 PM on the 7th Floor of the Princess Margaret Cancer Centre.

For more information, visit the Princess Margaret’s Patient and Family Library or email kirshawards@thepmcf.ca.
