 What We Do

The Rapid Access Addiction Medicine (RAAM) Clinic provides low barrier access for patients seeking treatment for any substance use disorder. Patients do not need an appointment and are seen on a walk-in basis. Although formal referrals are not required, they are still encouraged and appreciated. Referring physicians and other health care providers can send these either via email (RAAM@uhn.ca) or by fax (416 603 5490). This clinic will provide brief counselling, prescribe medications (including anti-craving medications for alcohol and buprenorphine/naloxone for opiate use disorder) and connect patients with community treatment programs. Please note, this clinic is not for patients suffering strictly from chronic pain, or patients who require acute care/monitoring (this is not meant to facilitate early discharge from the emergency department). This clinic is part of a broader network of RAAM clinics throughout Toronto, as part of META:PHI (Mentoring, Education and Clinical Tools for Addiction: Primary Care – Hospital Integration).

Patients who are interested in longer and more intensive psychotherapy can self-refer to the Addictions Outpatient Services.
