The Seventh Annual Concussion Research Symposium: Advances in Concussion Research, including Concussion in Women & Girls

Date: Saturday November 2, 2019
Location: BMO Education & Conference Centre, Toronto Western Hospital, 60 Leonard Ave.

Keynote Speakers: Dr. Douglas H. Smith, Professor and Vice Chairman of Research and Education, Department of Neurosurgery, University of Pennsylvania; Katherine Snedaker, the originator of Pink Concussions; and Dr. Joseph A. Maldjian, Professor of Radiology, University of Texas, Southwestern Medical Center, Chief of the Neuroradiology Imaging Research Lab.

Research topics for presentation include the following: clinical, neuropsychological, neuroimaging, biomarkers and neuropathological manifestations of concussion, postconcussion syndrome and chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE).

There will also be two Symposium events on November 1, a focused scientific presentation on CTE and imaging of concussion in the afternoon followed in the evening by a Public Forum entitled Concussion and Mental Health at which there will be a patients’ panel moderated by Katherine Snedaker.
