The research we do is divided into six systems-based divisions: neuroradiology, musculoskeletal imaging, vascular interventional radiology, abdominal imaging, cardiothoracic imaging and breast imaging.

Our clinical research is critical to understanding illnesses such as cardiac, neurological, gastro-intestinal, renal and obstetrical diseases and cancer, and is key to developing treatment options and plans in consultation with each patient’s health care team.

As one of the largest medical imaging departments in Canada and a major partner with industry sponsors, we have access to innovative diagnostic equipment and skilled technology specialists. We provide imaging services to more than 300 research studies at our five JDMI hospital sites.

JDMI researchers have received $8 million in grant-supported and industry-funded clinical trials support to promote translation research, and they have published scores of articles in peer-reviewed journals.
