Program Announcements

The Soham & Shaila Ajmera Family Transplant Centre

The Ajmera Transplant Centre, in alignment with Ontario Health, our partners at Trillium Gift of Life Network and our peer organizations, is gradually and cautiously increasing the transplant activities that were put on hold because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The safety of our patients, living donors and staff is our number one priority. Ongoing measures are being taken to ensure that donated organs are COVID-free and that the transplant units remain low COVID-19 risk areas. Please visit UHN’s COVID-19 section to learn more about UHN's plans as we ease back into scheduled services and what you need to know before arriving at the hospital.

As we shared before, you will continue to keep your priority on the waiting list while our programs continue to work towards increasing transplant services.

If you have questions or concerns, please reach out to your Transplant Coordinator for information and support. We are grateful for your patience, trust and understanding. We know this transition period is difficult for our patients and their families. Please visit UHN’s Transplant Psychosocial Team page to access more information and resources.

Peter Munk Cardiac Centre

The Peter Munk Cardiac Centre, in alignment with Ontario Health, is gradually and cautiously increasing health care services put on hold due to the COVID-19 pandemic. This includes diagnostics, procedural care and non-urgent and scheduled surgeries.

Clinicians are continuing to monitor their patients to determine who should be seen in-person vs. virtually. A virtual visit might be a phone call, video chat, or Telehealth appointment. (Learn more about Virtual Visits at UHN.) If there are any changes to your upcoming appointment, you will be contacted by the clinic or physician's office before your appointment date.

We encourage you to call your clinic if you have any questions. Clinic and diagnostic area numbers can be found on your appointment itinerary and/or in the myUHN portal if you are subscribed.

Please visit UHN’s COVID-19 section to learn more about UHN's plans as we ease back into scheduled services and what you need to know before arriving at the hospital.

We are grateful for your patience, trust and understanding.
