A third dose of the COVID-19 vaccine is now approved in Ontario for certain groups.

Expanded eligibility was recently announced for those at highest risk.

At UHN, we are currently working to provide a 3rd dose of the COVID-19 vaccine for the following patient groups:

  • Oncology outpatients:
    • Some cancer patients are eligible for a third dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.
    • To learn if you are eligible and how to book an appointment, refer to What You Need to Know About the Third Dose of the COVID-19 Vaccine

    • Please note, the provincial booking system is not booking 3rd dose appointments.
  • Transplant outpatients:
    • Given the larger volume and geographical spread of eligible transplant patients, we encourage patients to obtain their 3rd dose in their local communities.
    • If you are a transplant patient at UHN, and require a letter confirming your patient status to receive a COVID-19 vaccine third dose, please submit your request to
    • Please note, the provincial booking system is not booking 3rd dose appointments.
  • Other outpatients that may be eligible for a 3rd dose of vaccine:
    • Eligible patients are encouraged to obtain the vaccine ​in their local communities. Please be aware that these patients may be contacting their care provider for a letter confirming their eligibility to receive a 3rd dose. Please note, the provincial booking system is not booking 3rd dose appointments.

Registry Updates

The UHN vaccine registries are now closed. Visit the provincial bookin​g system or call the Provincial Vaccine Information Line at 1 833 943 3900 to register for your first or second dose​​. Book a vaccination in your language.

About UHN Vaccination Clinics

UHN is one of Ontario's sites that have been designated to receive and administer COVID-19 vaccines to priority populations. Eligibility criteria has been set by the government of Ontario and is being provided on a priority basis.

The Government of Ontario and City of Toronto are deciding how the vaccine is being distributed. UHN is following the Government's decision when distributing the vaccine to staff and patients.
