Monthly Donors
Did you know that you can spread your donation out over the year and help provide a reliable source of funding for research every month? It's called the Arthritis Research Foundation Monthly Donor Program. As a Monthly Donor your contribution is convenient, automatic, affordable and effective. The benefits of monthly giving are:
  • Very convenient, no cheque writing
  • It enables you to make manageable donations that add up to a significant gift over the year
  • One annual charitable tax receipt simplifies your record keeping
  • It helps the Arthritis Research Foundation plan more effectively, as it provides an ongoing source of funding
  • You're in complete control and can change your monthly donation at any time with a simple phone call or email.
  • Saves on postage, envelopes and administrative costs.

Monthly giving is easy. You simply pre-authorize a monthly deduction from your bank account or credit card. You can donate $10, $25, $35 or an amount of your choice.

As our thank you, you'll receive our yearly newsletter, and special recognition in our annual report.

Governor Circle Donors
Donors who annually contribute a total of $1,000 or more to the Arthritis Research Foundation become members of the Governors Circle.

Established in 1985, the Governors Circle is a special leadership giving program which provides vital infrastructure funding to support our outstanding clinicians and researchers.

Why become a Governors Circle member?
The Arthritis Research Foundation is pioneering arthritis-related research in Canada. The Research Centre's excellence stems from the convergence of research in basic science, clinical science and surgical expertise. It includes leaders in genomic medicine, health services research and immunology working together to accelerate discoveries. Governors Circle members are putting the power of research to work today.

In recognition of your special contribution, you will be invited to join other Governors Circle members at an annual recognition dinner, research lectures, and your generosity will be recognized in the Annual Report. You will also receive the Foundation's Annual Report and an invitation to the Annual General Meeting held in September.

Gifts of Publically Listed Securities
If you're a Canadian paying capital gain taxes, you're probably well aware that you can now donate publicly listed securities to public charities without incurring any capital gains tax.

With the new developments in the discovery of biomarkers, the Arthritis Research Foundation is now second to none in North America with its collaborative approach to all inflammatory disorders. There is still much to be done, and with your donation, the acceleration of discovery is increasing.

We thank you for your support, in helping us beat arthritis. Simply download and complete our Gift of Publicly Listed Securities form.

Forward the form to your broker/investment advisor who will handle the transfer and forward a copy to the Arthritis Research Foundation.

A charitable tax receipt will be issued based on the market value of the transferred securities, determined at the close of trading on the day our custodial agency (TD Waterhouse Discount Brokerage) receives the securities.

The Arthritis Research Foundation's policy for the sale of donated securities is that all shares will be sold as soon as possible after they have been received. We recommend you discuss your gift intentions with your family and your own financial or legal advisers.
