Since the first event on April 22, 1970, Earth Day has been gaining momentum around the globe.

Now, more than ever, the planet we share could use a little love, respect and celebration. Here at UHN, led by the Energy & Environment Department and the 700-strong UHN green team, we will celebrate for a supersized week – two of them, to be exact – stretching from today through May 3.

Among the activities planned are two great talks on our pollinator populations – the bees and the butterflies. This year, UHN has partnered with the Hospital for Sick Children and Sinai Health Systems on the talks, so if you cannot attend it at your site, you are welcome next door. The schedule is below.

And, the infamous and interactive traveling lobby booth will be making the rounds. Made entirely of reused and recycled materials, it's where you can vote for your favourite in the UHN Light Switch Plate Design Contest, play the Recycling Rescue Game and more. Yes, there will be prizes.
