Getting Around Our Hospitals

Transportation Inside the Hospital

Volunteer navigators are available to escort you during your visit to the hospital. You can ask for an escort during business hours at any of our Information Desks, which are located near the main entrances of our hospitals.

Please note, our volunteers are not allowed to lift or transfer patients but will be pleased to contact transportation to arrange a porter for you.

Portering

Our team of dedicated support staff works with the health care team to lift and transport patients in a safe, respectful, friendly and professional manner. Your health team will make arrangements for porter transportation as required.

Wheelchairs

wheelchair icon Wheelchairs are available at all main entrances and parking lots.

Note: Wheelchairs for the Princess Margaret Cancer Centre are available at the 60 Murray Street entrance at the back of the building.

Staxi Chairs

The Staxi chairs provide temporary transportation and are available near all the main entrances. Staxi chairs requires a $1.00 deposit which will be reimbursed when the chair is returned.
