Physiotherapists at UHN are experts in helping patients achieve the highest level of physical functioning at any stage of life. They provide patients with personalized treatment plans based on their specific needs.

What we do:

• Assess a patient’s ability to move within his or her environment
• Help maximize physical safety and plan treatment to help patients exercise and improve breathing, strength, movement, and activity
• Actively engage patients in planning and carrying out treatment
• Educate patients about their conditions
• Plan safe discharge, including suggestions for how patients can continue with their own activity plans and exercises
• Help link patients with community resources or rehabilitation institutions when needed
