Welcome to the Pre-Admission Department of Toronto General Hospital. Our goal is to prepare patients for surgery. We strive for patient satisfaction by doing our best to prevent last-minute surgery cancellations, ensuring all necessary steps for successful surgery are taken, and taking preventative measures to keep the chances for re-admission to a minimum.

• Medical and anesthetic consults
• Nursing assessments
• Pre-operative teaching (on the recommendation of the surgeon)

When you visit the pre-admission department, please bring all the information from recent tests, as well as the names and phone numbers of doctors, specialists, and internists you have seen in the past. This will help speed up your visit and help us with the assessment of your medical health.
