Students - Drug Dispensing System (Pyxis)

Pyxis Medstation is the drug distribution cabinet that is used at UHN. It is a computerized system to track who is accessing medications on each unit. If you are administering medications, you must have access to Pyxis in your own name.

In order to receive access to the Pyxis Medstation, you must successfully complete the Pyxis Medstation 4000 eLearning course. This is available in the eLearning Centre (course code NUUHNU024W), or as a built-in tutorial on any Pyxis Medstation. You must also complete the UHN Safe Medication Practice (course code NUUHNU407W), which is available in the eLearning Centre.

Access to Pyxis machines is organized at the individual unit or department level. Once you complete the required courses, access can be arranged through the Unit Pharmacist, Nurse Manager, Care Leader, or Clinical Educator. Be sure to print your transcript before you request Pyxis access.
