The Privacy Office is committed to protecting the privacy of personal information under the custody or control of UHN in accordance with relevant data protection legislation, public expectations for privacy, and internationally accepted fair information principles. UHN’s expectation is that nursing students and faculty will make themselves aware of, and will adhere to our Privacy Policy while on clinical placements anywhere within our organization.

Reasonable Steps for Protecting Privacy
- Don’t discuss confidential information outside your job.
- Don’t discuss confidential information in public areas (e.g. elevators, food courts, shuttle bus).
- Don’t “surf” for information on your pals.
- Keep your password to yourself.
- Log off when you are finished at your PC.
- Wear your ID badge.
