Nursing Informatics - Nursing Intranet

The Nursing Intranet at UHN was launched in February 2002. This internal web site is a result of a successful collaboration between Nursing and the Corporate Intranet Team. The site was designed and created by nursing staff working within standard UHN Intranet guidelines for style and navigation. A variety of methods were used to engage nurses in determining the layout and content of the Nursing Intranet.

The site is comprised of approximately 3000 web pages and continues to expand as more content is developed. The Nursing Intranet was created to highlight and profile nursing at UHN, to share and standardize information and to promote nursing computer use as UHN migrates to a paperless environment. The site consists of four sections including corporate nursing, professional practice, education and nursing research. It provides information about all facets of nursing at UHN, profiles specific nursing groups/committee and provides a “mini” website for each of the nursing units.
