The Radiation Medicine Program (RMP) at the Princess Margaret Cancer Centre offers an Observership Program for practicing radiation oncologists, physicists and radiation therapists. It provides an opportunity for participants to broaden medical knowledge “on-site” by visiting and observing our clinical environment and activities at the Princess Margaret. These discipline-based, 1-2 week programs will expose observers to state-of-the-art facilities and clinical care, as well as mentorship from award-winning experts in radiation medicine.
The three streams of the Observership Program are led by Dr. Normand Laperriere (radiation oncology), Dr. Jean-Pierre Bissonnette (radiation physics) and Ms. Angela Cashell (radiation therapy). For further details about the Observership Program or for application information, please contact Marcia Bowen. Interested applicants are encouraged to begin the application process at least 6 months prior to the intended start date of their Observership.
Applicants interested in more in-depth training are encouraged to participate in the
Personalized Learning ProgramTM (PLPTM) at the RMP, which offers a 6-12 month intensive Observership. Participants benefit from a goal-oriented curriculum based on true clinical cases and a variety of interactive simulation-based training. The customizable nature of the curriculum, which includes clinical mentorship, on-site learning and individualized tutoring, allows participants to tailor their specific learning requirements to match their area of clinical specialization. Detailed information including curriculum and contact information can be found online »
