About Us
The Patient Education Network at Princess Margaret Hospital plays a key role in patient care. Our program supports patients, their families and friends with innovative programs and services. We design educational programs and resources that provide users with the valuable information they need. We aim to assist patients throughout their care and help them find the support and services they need.
While coping with cancer, patients are often overwhelmed by information and choices. At the same time, they need information in order to take an active role in their own care.
Cancer patients and their families require information throughout their care, and their informational needs change over time. This makes access to relevant and accurate information essential. Timely information can help patients make decisions that are right for them and help them to find the services they need, when they need them.
Making sure that patients have the information they need is a challenging task. Since 1997, we have embraced this challenge. We use best-practice teaching methods, and are continually exploring new ways of improving the delivery of education through the research, development and evaluation of innovative programs and technologies. Above all, we strive to place the patient, at the centre of care.
