Osteoporosis

Osteoporosis is a serious disease characterized by low bone mass. Loss of bone mass can occur for many years without signs or symptoms, causing weaker bones and an increased risk of fractures. If left untreated, osteoporosis can lead to broken bones, constant pain and spinal deformity.

It is estimated that 1.4 million Canadians suffer from osteoporosis and one in four women and one in eight men over the age 50 suffer from the disease.
