UHN established our Bioethics Program in 1997. Bioethicists are available at all UHN sites.
Our bioethicists hold PhD or Masters degrees in related disciplines, and have completed fellowships in clinical bioethics. They supplement their education with training in mediation, leadership and research ethics. They’re also actively engaged in academic research and publish and make presentations on such topics as transplantation, patient-centred care and professionalization in bioethics.
