Sessions

  • Plenary Sessions feature topic-based learning in which renowned experts present state of the art reviews on congenital heart disease, with a perspective for today's clinical practice.
  • Breakout Sessions provide a unique opportunity for intense interaction between a limited audience and experts in various fields of congenital cardiology and will allow in-depth discussion of unanswered questions. There will be three simultaneous breakout sessions: two case presentations and one workshop. Case presentations will be repeated once.
    • Case Presentations feature case-based learning and are tailored to topics discussed in the Plenary Sessions. Teams from Canada, United Kingdom, Europe, and USA will discuss cases with special focus on Ebstein anomaly, failing subaortic RV, Fontan, heart failure, pulmonary hypertension, pregnancy, arrhythmias and interventions.
    • Workshops will be an interactive educational opportunity to discuss challenging questions.
  • Fellow breakout sessions are a new feature of the Symposium. It will provide trainees a unique opportunity to learn the basics of congenital heart disease, to get familiar with diagnostic and therapeutic pitfalls in the care of adult congenital heart disease patients, and will be an interactive educational opportunity to discuss challenging questions with experts in the field.
  • Non-Physician focused sessions will allow Nurse Practitioners, Nurses, Cardiac Care Associates or Physician Assistants to discuss their specific educational needs.
  • MED Talks is a new feature modelled on the TED Talks and are devoted to spreading ideas in the form of short, influential and powerful talks from expert speakers (TED: Technology, Entertainment, Design).
  • Poster Presentations will provide the presenters a unique opportunity to share their scientific papers.
