Dr. Patrice Bret
Chief, Department of Medical Imaging

Dr. Bret is Chief of the Department of Medical Imaging at UHN. He received his medical training at the Université Lyon, France, where he also had his radiology residency training. He joined the Faculty of Department of Radiology at the Université Lyon in 1980, and subsequently moved to McGill University in 1985 where he was the Radiologist-in-Chief (RIC) at Montreal General Hospital and later on, the Departmental Chair. Since 1997 he has been the RIC at UHN and Mount Sinai Hospital. Since July 1, 2007, Dr. Bret is also the Chair of Radiology at the University of Toronto, and Radiologist-in-Chief for Women's College Hospital. His main interests are multimodality imaging of abdominal diseases and the use of information technology in radiology.
