How to Get Referred

A referral needs to be sent from your family doctor or hepatologist (liver doctor).

When making a referral, your doctor will include:

  • A letter of referral (minimally, our referral form filled in by your referring physician)
  • Blood work results
  • Clinical notes
  • Test and x-ray results
  • Imaging results (including CD if available)

How Long Does a Referral Take?

Once we receive a completed referral package, we will call you within two to five business days.

If the referral package is not complete, we will work with your doctor to complete your referral. It may take a few days to a few weeks to complete all tests required for the referral.

Our goal is to complete your evaluation for a liver transplant within 60-90 days of receiving a complete referral package.
