The Joint Department of Medical Imaging's Informatics team is responsible for managing, implementing, and supporting all Radiology IT systems used by staff within the Department, as well as Non-Radiology staff across the three organizations (UHN, Mount Sinai Hospital and Women's College Hospital).
The team is also responsible for designing and developing the primary systems used for the diagnosis and reporting of imaging procedures. These systems are known as the RIS (Radiology Information System), and PACS (Picture Archive Communication System). The product line developed by JDMI Informatics is known as Coral RIS/PACS. Coral is the common platform used by staff across all three organizations to diagnose and read radiology reports, as well as view radiology images.
