The Peter Munk Cardiac Centre is hosting a discussion open to the public about the treatment of Patients with Multiple Sclerosis by Dilation of Narrowed Veins in the Neck and Chest – Scientific, Moral and Ethical Considerations.
Dr. Paolo Zamboni, an Italian vascular surgeon, recently described a procedure using balloon dilation therapy – dilating veins in the neck and chest using a balloon – that led to improvements in some patients with Multiple Sclerosis. To date, the safety and effectiveness of this procedure for MS patients have not been established, yet many Canadians are travelling abroad for this experimental therapy.
All are welcome to join renowned vascular surgeon Dr. Barry Rubin from the Peter Munk Cardiac Centre.
