Donna E. Stewart, MD, FRCPC Donna Stewart
Dr. Stewart holds the Lillian Love Chair in Women's Health and is a University Professor in the Departments of Psychiatry, Obstetrics/Gynecology, Anesthesia, Surgery, Internal Medicine and Family and Community Medicine at the University of Toronto. She is also a Director of the Women's Health Program at the University Health Network, Senior Scientist, Toronto General Research Institute, and a faculty member with the Institute of Medical Sciences, School of Graduate Studies, Joint Centre for Bioethics, Heart and Stroke/Lewar Centre of Excellence, and the Centre for International Health, University of Toronto. Dr. Stewart has an international reputation in women's health behavioural research, international health, mental health, education, policy and services, and is the author of over two hundred peer-reviewed papers and chapters, six books, and numerous consultations and reports on women's health policy and practice to government, universities, agencies and industries. She is past Chair of the Section of Women's Mental Health of the World Psychiatric Association and past Chair of the Committee on Women of the American Psychiatric Association. She has also served on the Ontario Women's Health Council Executive and Health Canada Advisory Committee for Women's Health. She is now a special consultant on women's health to the United Nations Economic and Social Council and is Co-Chair of the World Psychiatric Association Review Committee on International Abuses of Psychiatry. She is President of the International Association for Women's Mental Health and a World Health Organization consultant on women's mental health. She is a member of the CIHR Institute of Gender and Health Advisory Board.
