Dr. Susan Tarlo

Dr. Susan M. Tarlo is a respiratory physician at Toronto Western Hospital, at the Gage Occupational and Environmental Health Unit (GOEHU) of St. Michael’s Hospital, as well as Professor in the Department of Medicine and the Department of Public Health Sciences at the University of Toronto. She has been a staff physician at the Toronto General Hospital and then at Toronto Western Hospital and GOEHU since 1976. Her main areas of clinical practice and research are in occupational and environmental lung diseases and allergic responses, especially occupational asthma.

Dr. Tarlo graduated from medical school at London University, England, and underwent postgraduate training in England before coming to Queen’s University, Kingston, Ontario for a fellowship in Allergy and Clinical Immunology and her residency in Respiratory Medicine at McMaster University, Hamilton.
