17th Regional Anesthesia & Pain Medicine 2011 Hands-on Workshop (RAPM)

This workshop aims to provide practical skills and knowledge for anesthesiologists and pain practitioners to apply regional anesthesia and start of the art pain modalities more effectively and safely.

After successful completion of the course, attendees should be able to:

• Describe the role of ultrasound imaging in regional anesthesia
• Identify artifacts and pitfalls associated with regional anesthesia and nerve injury
  
• Integrate the latest advances in analgesics for patients having epidurals and C-section with discussion of new analgesics for regional anesthesia
  
• Use ultrasound for specific regional anesthesia techniques for various patient challenges.

Anesthesia Preceptorship (PRE2010)
Dates: October, November 2011
Location: Toronto Western Hospital
Over the course of 2 days (approximately seven hours per day), you will be able to:

• Network with prominent specialists in anesthesiology, observe them in action, and discuss cases of interest with them
  
• View the set up and function of the regional anesthesia procedure facility, operating rooms, recovery room and day surgery unit
  
• See the latest in regional anesthesia equipment and procedures
  
• Meet with colleagues to discuss challenging cases encountered in modern regional anesthesia practice

Ultrasound for Pain Medicine Workshop (USPMW)
Sept. 30-Oct. 2, 2011
Location: Toronto Western Hospital
This is a 2-day intensive ultrasound workshop offered to physicians who wish to learn ultrasound guided nerve block procedures for chronic pain management. At the end of this introductory course, participants would have acquired a thorough knowledge of ultrasound imaging and needling techniques for chronic block procedures.

Introductory Workshops for Ultrasound Guided Nerve Blocks(IUWB08)

This is a 3-day intensive ultrasound workshop offered to anesthesiologists who wish to learn the BASIC skills of ultrasound guided nerve blocks. At the end of this introductory course, participants would have acquired a thorough knowledge of the imaging and needling techniques for nerve blocks in various regions of the body.

This is a 3-day intensive ultrasound workshop offered to anesthesiologists who have prior experience with ultrasound-guided nerve blocks.  At the end of this ADVANCED course, participants would have acquired a thorough knowledge of imaging and block techniques of the following nerve structures.
