Ethno-Cultural Act Team for Metro Toronto: Challenges And Opportunities
The Mount Sinai Assertive Community Treatment Team (ACT) is an innovation on the ACT model that focuses on recent immigrants and ethnic minorities who traditionally have more marginalized treatment in the mainstream psychiatric system. The care is delivered by a unique combination of matching the cultural backgrounds between the staff and clients, and by promoting cultural competence models. The results of this team have been remarkable.
