Warning Signs - Schizophrenia

Schizophrenia - a mental illness accompanied by a combination of hallucinations, delusions, disorganized thinking and talking, and social withdrawal.
If you or someone you know are experiencing these symptoms or warning signs seek medical attention:
| • | Fatigue, sleepiness |
| • | Inability to concentrate or cope with minor problems |
| • | Indifference, to important events or situations |
| • | Dropping out of activities |
| • | Decline in academic and athletic performance |
| • | Long walks without purpose |
| • | Drug or alcohol abuse |
| • | Peculiar use of words or language structure |
| • | Staring |
| • | Unusual sensitivity to stimuli (noise, light) |
| • | Forgetfulness |
| • | Inability to express emotion |
| • | Irrational, incoherent conversation |
| • | Deterioration of personal hygiene |
| • | Social withdrawal, isolation, deterioration of social relationships |
| • | Bizarre behavior, inappropriate laughter or strange posturing |
