Warning Signs - Schizophrenia

Schizophrenia - a mental illness accompanied by a combination of hallucinations, delusions, disorganized thinking and talking, and social withdrawal.

If you or someone you know are experiencing these symptoms or warning signs seek medical attention:

Fatigue, sleepiness
Inability to concentrate or cope with minor problems
Indifference, to important events or situations
Dropping out of activities
Decline in academic and athletic performance
Long walks without purpose
Drug or alcohol abuse
Peculiar use of words or language structure
Staring
Unusual sensitivity to stimuli (noise, light)
Forgetfulness
Inability to express emotion
Irrational, incoherent conversation
Deterioration of personal hygiene
Social withdrawal, isolation, deterioration of social relationships
Bizarre behavior, inappropriate laughter or strange posturing
