Alzheimer's - a degenerative brain disease that leads to impairments of thinking and memory
If you or someone you know are experiencing these symptoms or warning signs seek medical attention:
| • | Memory loss especially for recent events |
| • | Difficulty performing familiar tasks |
| • | Problems with language including forgetting simple words or substituting inappropriate words |
| • | Problems with abstract thinking |
| • | Disorientation in time and place leading to getting lost or missing appointments |
| • | Poor or decreased judgment pertaining to personal hygiene and safety or medical situations. |
| • | Loosing or misplacing items |
| • | Changes in mood and behavior including rapid mood swings from calm to anger |
| • | Changes in personality including apathy, fearfulness, suspiciousness |
| • | Loss of initiative, passive, uninvolved. |
