The terms in this glossary were derived from the medical glossary of the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health and are used with the Centre's permission

Generalized anxiety disorder (GAD) – A chronic, non–specific anxiety lasting at least 6 months characterized by excessive worry over everything, including the excessive worrying itself.
Grief – A normal emotional outlet for great personal loss (see bereavement).
Grief–counseling therapy – Treatment to help people deal with significant loss or bereavement.
Group therapy – talk therapy that takes place for a number of patients together. Group therapy has been used successfully to give patients support and psychoeducation.
