Welcome to the Website for the Red Blood Cell Disorders Program, at Toronto General Hospital. Along with the Hospital for Sick Children, Toronto is home to the largest Sickle Cell and Thalassemia program in North America.

We believe in holistic patient care, managing the acute problems patients with these diseases and other rare anemias face, and also the long term complications. The clinic has expertise in the management of iron overload. The aim is to improve the physical, psychological and social health of the patients, enhancing the quality of life and also the life expectancy. There are close links to other Specialists at UHN to help with Pain Management, Blood Transfusion and other complex health issues.

Please explore the site to learn more about what the Clinic offers.

The clinic is in a phase of expansion and growth, so keep checking back for announcements and developments.
