Psychologists within the Department of Psychosocial Oncology and Palliative Care are an integral part of the multi-disciplinary team offering clinical services to oncology patients and their families and conducting research that evaluates and informs the clinical services offered. Our team of Clinical, Health and Neuro Psychologists provide assessment, diagnosis and treatment planning in various areas, such as:
- Symptom Management (including Pain Management)
- Treatment Side-effect Management
- Post-treatment Adaptation
- Psychological Distress
- Couple and Family Adjustment
Services provided:
- Psychosocial assessment
- Neurocognitive assessment
- Individual and group Psychotherapyv
- Couples and family Therapy
- Psycho-educational work
- Relaxation and stress management
- Grief and Bereavement Counselling
- Referrals to other resources within POPC and the community
Psychologists in POPC also provide training at both the doctoral and post-doctoral level.
